215 Fund goes pan-London starting with Hackney Arts at All Points East, Community + Wireless
After successfully supporting nine events and installations in and around Brixton last year, we’re opening up our 215 Fund to the rest of London. Our first official venture outside of our home borough of Lambeth was to help set-up Hackney Arts’ creative community tent at All Points East music festival in May 2019. We’ll also be joining them at Community and Wireless festivals in June and July 2019.
Our 215 Fund provides event crew – the professionals that build events – to support amazing events and installations that benefit the community – donating up to 500 hours of manpower time to the most suitable projects over the next 12 months.
The 215 Fund is ideal for people with a great creative team and all the materials in place, but a lack of skilled manpower to get them up and running. Hackney Arts and their upcoming project seemed like the perfect fit.
Hackney Arts connects artists, businesses and communities to deliver social impact in Hackney. We think it’s great that they are giving artists and makers from their local area exposure to an audience of thousands at these high-profile music festivals.
Our support means that the team can re-direct funds toward improving their areas at the events so that everyone can get the most out of this rare and unique opportunity.
We caught up with Sophie Thompson, CEO and Founder of Hackney Arts after All Points East. Here’s what she said about their win:
“Connection Crew is an incredible organisation. Their commitment to social impact, high standard of work and their friendly and professional attitude make them a total joy to work with. We were honoured to be given support via their 215 Fund, another example of how they support the community by working with fellow social enterprises. Thank you for everything, you guys are awesome!”
Thanks Sophie!
