The news is out…Connection Crew is a finalist at the Social Enterprise UK awards!

Connection Crew has been recognised as one of the country’s trailblazing social enterprises by the Social Enterprise UK Awards!

The news is out…Connection Crew and our sub-brand Stitch have been nominated as a finalist in the ‘Education, Jobs and Training’ category at the industry-leading Social Enterprise UK awards.

We join fellow, pioneering social enterprises to make the shortlist for this year’s awards, making the cut from over 400 entries made from across the UK.

Through delivering crewing, logistics, and production services (via our sub-brand Stitch) we’ve supported over 380 people who have experienced, or been at risk, of homelessness to access training, mentoring and jobs.

Altogether, our target crew have completed more than 200,000 hours of work, building iconic events such as the Coronation, London Marathon and BAFTA, and delivering production services for corporate partners including CBRE, Johnson & Johnson and Wates Group.

Camilla Marcus-Dew, Head of Ventures, said:

We couldn’t be prouder to be recognised as a game-changing social enterprise, driving positive social impact into supply chains and industries. As likely the largest labour-based social enterprise in the UK, we are uniquely placed to create meaningful opportunities for anyone who finds themselves furthest from the job market, and to provide the opportunity for our clients to contribute to long-term positive social outcomes too. More work = more training so hopefully even more of the Buy Social Corporate Challenge partners jump on board.”

But our work doesn’t stop at just creating jobs.

We know that to for people to be successful in work in the long-term, supporting skills development, confidence in the role, and a sense of work readiness are key. So, we have an Academy programme and mentoring scheme in place to support people both to thrive with us and in their future careers too.

Doing business to benefit people – whilst doing our best for the planet too through our 2030 net zero target – is who we are.

We’re delighted to be recognised as a pioneering social enterprise, working in partnership with clients to make sure that positive social outcomes are always on the agenda.

We can’t wait to join all the finalists at the awards ceremony taking place at London’s iconic Roundhouse on Thursday 30 November.
