Social Enterprise of the Year?
We’ve been nominated for the Social Enterprise of the Year Award by Social Enterprise UK (SEUK). All shortlisted applicants have been invited to provide film footage to be screened at the awards ceremony in November.
Our cameras – OK, camera – caught up with Connection Crew Co-directors, Charlie Dorman and Warren Rogers, on site as they spoke about why we applied and what it means to be a finalist for this prestigious award:

Warren Rogers:
“Connection Crew has helped 157 people who have been homeless get back into employment. But we’ve identified that the social impact we have doesn’t just have to exist within the core of our business.”
Charlie Dorman:
“Having produced a 10 year report examining our social impact over the years, we’ve realised that there is an opportunity to increase our impact by sharing our journey: successes – and failures. The award gives us another opportunity to do that which is quite unique.”
Warren Rogers:
“Another reason we’ve applied is because we recognise that as the only social enterprise in the events industry we are in a unique position to inspire others to socialise their own businesses. Bringing social enterprise from the fringes to the mainstream really is one of our missions.”
Charlie Dorman:
“We’re honoured to be shortlisted. It’s an endorsement of the work that we’re doing, but more importantly, it gives us another opportunity to share our story. It’s not just about raising awareness, it’s about embedding lasting change.”
