215 Fund: helping to launch a pioneering arts venue

Streatham Space Project was the inaugural winner of 215 Fund, Connection Crew’s fund providing skilled manpower for building amazing events and installations that benefit our local community.

Streatham Space Project is being set-up by a team of arts professionals based locally. It’s a project to see what an arts space can do for a neighbourhood like Streatham – and its just around the corner from our base in Brixton Hill.

We donated 16 hours of support – deploying a team of four of our fab event crew to help get the rake seating ready for the auditorium and its future guests.

Andy McKeane, Streatham Space Project explained the impact of this support:

“To have a friendly, professional and experienced team come in sort our rake quickly and smoothly, saved us time (way more than the 16 hours it took Connection Crew’s team) and saved us resources that we were able to re-direct to other parts of the project. A huge help in the run-up to our imminent opening.”

Margarita Ktoris, Marketing Manager, Connection Crew and 215 Fund project lead said:

“It was pretty much a no-brainer for us when we assessed Streatham’s Space Projects application to the fund. We could see clearly that our support would add value to the team’s efforts in launching a pioneering new arts venue in Streatham – definitely something worth supporting and celebrating.”
